Make your own Yoga eye-pads

A sewing pattern to try!

I make my eye-bags 9cm x 19 cm with 130 grams of linseed inside.  You may like to experiment with these dimensions and find the perfect sized eye-bag for you.

Satin-type material is lovely for eye-bags.  I recycle my daughters old nighties and PJs.  I've also used recycled hemp (mine is all gone now though) and all sorts of fabrics that I can pick up free.  I imagine silk would be beautiful.  Linseed is available from most supermarkets.

Simply cut the material into your rectangle shape, leaving room to sew the edges.  Remember 'an iron is a sewer's best friend!'   With material inside-out zig-zag the outside edges, leaving a space to turn the material in the right way and to pour the linseed in. Turn the material the right-way-out, sew a straight seem around, leaving the space for linseed.

Use a funnel to fill the eye-bag .  Sew up the space.

Voila!   It's really nice to get together with a friend and make these - they would make a lovely gift for all your fellow yogis at yoga class!

With thanks to Linda Johnston (YA-IYTA Shop Corner contact)
